Here are a few of my favorite things...

So here are just some random favorites of mine, they are absolute necessities in my life!

  • Herb moistened face mask
  • Can be bought at Mitsuwa, Marukai, Japanese .98 store
  • Not for the replacement of your normal face cleansing regimen.
  • Smells awesome and leaves your face feeling refreshed, clean & brand spankin' new!
  • I love the glow it gives my face after use.
  • Not the cheapest but it's about .99 per face mask if not more.
  • Shouldn't be used more than 1-2x a week.
  • Comes in 2 scents, aloe vera & cucumber
  • Comes in cleansing wipes & makeup remover wipes
  • Only $1 per each packet of 30 wipes! SWEET!
  • Available at the Dollar Depot & maybe just maybe at your local .99 cents store
  • Works great, both the cleansing wipes and make up remover wipes cleanse and remove make up at the same time
  • This baby is not cheap & is about $100 a POP. To be perfectly exact, 1.7 oz. OUCH!
  • A little goes a long way and moisturizes without overly greasing my face & evens skin tone. Leaves a soft, cashmere appearance on skin.
It's very creamy and goes on very smooth. Because it is so expensive I usually use this more when my skin is really dry (during the winter) or when I have a special day/night and I want my skin looking it's best.
  • Vaseline Intensive Care for Healthy Hands & Nails
  • An absolute MUST for me. I don't like having dry hands and this definitely does the job, especially after using a sanitizer which sometimes can be very drying to the hands because of the alcohol content
  • Banana Boat's Summer Color in Light-Medium
  • Really gives a nice touch of health to skin without looking overly baked. Especially handy during the winters when it becomes a little more difficult to maintain your tan.
  • I personally don't like my "natural" tan but love the tan summer color gives me !

DOUBLE RANT: FAKERY

Fakery:
(wordreference.com's definition)
adjective not genuine. noun a person or thing that is not genuine. verb
  • 1 forge or counterfeit (something).
    ■ pretend to feel or suffer from (an emotion or illness).
  • 2 (fake someone out) N. Amer. informal trick or deceive someone
(my definition)

  • to bake more fakecakes than a hollywood plastic surgeon.
& what is a fakecake?  I know you're thinkin' of Nicki Minaj's fake cakes & no, not a fake ass but it does take a FAKE ASS to make a fakecake. In otherwards, fake lies used to "CAKE" up one's life.
Just kidding. But no seriously, just agree ;)

I'll make this short and sweet cause of the previous rant but I just had to say something about it. I know ladies, it's y'alls blogs and you can say whatever the hell you want to but just be wary of the day someone who knows you in real life stumbles upon your blog, hopefully you won't come off distasteful or worse--FAKE. I'm glad that all the girls I've stumbled across on blogger have so far seemed to be very warm, welcoming, down to earth and classy ladies, PLEASE STAY THAT WAY FOREVER <3

You might have the whole "blogworld" ooh-ing and aaah-ing at this super cool alter ego you've created on your blog but I know the truth ;) I won't burn you on here 'cause I'm not like that.

Like a Game of Telephone

Jessica Dee & I were talking about how people act so different from their "online life" & their actual REAL life which leads me to rant!

It's so funny to me how some people can create this facade online to distort the truths of what actually happened or is. Do people not know that people in your real life read things you write? You may think they're not reading, but just like anybody else, they're curious. Seems like blogging is the online version of a reality show where you just distort things so you create this character that readers fall in love with. These bloggers supposedly expose themselves to you, make you feel their pains, their joys, their everything. Yet, you don't know if it's real or not. You don't really know if their lavish lifestyles really belong to them or anything really. I've been reading wayyy too many blogs about things that are super fabricated. If you're going to put your life out there for the world to read, it should be the truth. What do you need to lie about? Blogging isn't a popularity contest (I guess it may be for some) but it's more like letting your voice be heard in space & if one person is listening to the real you, then its worth it.

It's so hilar how people are even FAKER online. Please stop playing the victim for everything (break ups, shit talking, beat ups, jealousy etc), it's really not a pretty role. Victimizing yourself every single time, trying to justify your unethical actions, pretending to be some of sort of guru, all those are sooo lame. Please stop!! No one's perfect so please stop acting like you are! Thanks!

BTW, this is also how rumors and such get distorted... Just like that game of telephone when you were a kid!! Teacher tells you a sentence, you try your best to remember all the detz, then pass it along without fixing anything or repeating. Then it goes on, so on and so forth & before you know, the last person to hear it gets a completely different sentence! :) Thanks for reading, if you are reading because I seriously needed to rant about this !! IT MUST BE STOPPED (well, kind of, gives us something to lol about ;x)

Guys may find you more attractive because you supposedly like sports, playing games, aren't a shit talker, so down to earth...but sooner or later the real you comes out & you'll be exposed and alone.

Dumplings & Salad : Time & Money Saver

This is for that person who comes home late & dreads cooking because of the cleaning & waiting. Luckily, this quick fix is done in about 10 minutes or less. This is a much better alternative than going out to eat, it saves you time, money & gas (which all essentially adds up to saving $$).

DUMPLINGS & SPINACH CAESAR SALAD
Here's what you'll need:

  • Bag of frozen dumplings (I used veggie ones from a Korean market, around $7/bag)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil (my garlic Olive Oil was $5)
  • 1/4 Cup of Water (You can also use sake[$5.50], chicken stock, this adds more flavor)
  • Sautee Pan with a Lid!
  • 10 Minutes to spare
For the Salad:
  • A Fist full of Fresh Greens (I used Spinach) ($1/bunch or $3 for a box of baby spinach)
  • 1 tbsp of Caesar Salad Dressing ($3)
  • 2 tbsp of Crispy Onions ($0.50)
  • 2 clicks of Fresh Cracked Pepper
  • 1 pinch of Sea Salt
How To Make This:

  1. Add Oil to pan over medium heat until it starts crackling.
  2. Lift pan and tilt it to distribute oil as evenly as possible
  3. Take about 7-12 of your frozen dumplings (try not to use more than 12 @ once)
  4. Let them heat for a minute or two then add your liquid (for steaming & defrosting)
  5. Cover your dumplings & wait about 5 minutes (or until liquid is gone)**
  6. After the liquid is all gone, you lift up the lid & see your steamed dumplings. If you're fine with them being steamed, then stop here & serve.
  7. But I like them browned with a crispy skin so, you just turn them over until browned, then SERVE!
**While you're waiting after Step 5..... Add the salt, pepper, dressing & greens into a bowl & toss it! After your salad is tossed (ha-ha), you add your crispy onions for that extra crunch. You don't want to over dress your salad because it'll be all you taste & you'll be missing out on what your greens really have to offer.

Now, I don't know about you but I think this tastes much better than microwaved food & it only takes a few extra minutes. I would also prefer this over spending $5+ for a fast food meal that will leave me bloated, unsatisfied & regretful after consuming. Every ingredient I've used can be used again & again until you've used it all up! Oh, not to mention everything was pretty cheap...even the Olive Oil!

This Sake was only $5.50 & the bottle is HUGE!

I love all the crispy components to this meal!

*Save money on produce & meats @ your local ethnic food store, they are always much cheaper than American stores.

Where's the Holiday Spirit!?

I don't know about you guys but I feel a serious decline in holiday spirit. The holidays just don't feel warm, fuzzy and exciting anymore. The rain especially isn't helping, it's all damp and cold and all the crazy Christmas deco that was up at my neighbors' houses are taken down 'cause of the wind and rain. I don't know if I'm feeling that way because I'm getting older.

Anyways, last weekend my dad and his family and I took Serenity to DISNEY ON ICE! It was okay, definitely for children and definitely expensive! $15 for POPCORN!

That light up toy of death cost me a whopping $25 lol, like she wasn't dangerous as is.

Serenity was also in her FIRST PLAY ever! She was the old lady in the gingerbread man play. Look how I did her hair!

& last but not least some early Christmas presents I got!
Chanel pochette circa 1980
It's so gorge and you can't see it in the picture but it has a cute tassel on the side! Im in love ;)
and coicidentally, the bf got me matching boots to go with it as a late birthday present. It was originally supposed to match the Jimmy Choo but now it matches both!
