My Inner Fat Girl

(Strawberry Cupcake topped with Nutella Frosting, Cinnamon Toast Crunch & Pirouline Cookie Straw)

& yes, I made it.

Excuse me, while I salivate...

Ever heard of that bad wolf, good wolf story? If you haven't, well here you go..

"One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes
on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 wolves.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." "

You must be wondering..

You'll see. JUST KEEP READING! Relax :)

As a modern day woman in her early/almost-mid-20's, I h i g h l y doubt any damned wolves are battling inside me. I'm too skinny anyways, there's no meat to battle over.

A fat girl and the woman I want to become.

& when I say fat girl, I don't mean it LITERALLY, although I bet she is fat since I'm always feeding her! But seriously, by fat girl, I mean the bad side that I over indulge in. By unhealthy food choices, insecurities, bad decision making, everything that encompasses the enormous mass of gluttony badness within myself. Feeding her is an immediate satisfaction, short term fulfillment..

& then there's the woman I want to be. She's successful, happy, satisfied, secure, and independent. The idea is there, the plan is there but there's nothing immediately satisfying or fulfilling about feeding her. It's all blood, swear & tears.

Let's just say I've fed my inner fattie for too long and it's time to starve the bitch and let her die. As cold and creepy as that sounds, it's an absolute must. The destruction of my inner fat girl has already begun. Starting by eliminating my insecurities and by doing that I've been eating clean!

"Clean? What do you mean? You've been eating food off the floor!? Oh, you mean the 3 second rule, girl I do that all the time, don't trip"

-UH NO. By clean I mean, fresh, non-processed food. I've been staying away from starchy, complex carbs and have been avoiding sugar, by all means necessary.

May not be that big of difference to you, but it's a world of difference to me. Mentally, physically and emotionally, I feel like a brand, spankin' new girl! & this isn't just about my body, it's about me as a whole.

- pending.

Fashion Fiend or Life Investor?

(taken after F21 sample sale '10)
We're only as sick as our secrets..
so what skeletons are you hiding in your closet?

I, for one, am not a big fan of skeletons..they would take up space in my closet much needed for more important things, like CLOTHES!

Clothes are an investment for success, life & love. Unfortunately, one's attire conveys a social psychological message to those who see you. Creating opportunities or reinforcing negativity. You never know who you will run into or what you'll stumble across, so I'm always prepared (for the most part, ok, I'm lying but I TRY!) because the recipe to success is opportunity and preparedness.

So case closed, I'm not a sick, addicted shopaholic! I'm an investor in life, love & success :)

Boredom FOTD: Barbie Edition

"A plastic tan never fades but a plastic soul biodegrades..."
Boredom brings the barbie out of me, apparently. I was super duper bored and just ended up doing this look. Honestly, kinda sad it didn't POP out as much in pictures but it was BRIGHTER in person, I SWEAR! PLUS, I had to put this damn 88 e/s palette to good use somehow! & what better way than to paint my face.

& since we're on the topic of PLASTIC....

how plastic..IS PLASTIC?

& how FINE is that line between "enhancement" & just straight up "FALSE ADVERTISMENT"

If you think about it, women can virtually change EVERYTHING on their bodies, even without surgery. From contacts, to nails, lip plumpers, face tapes, clip on smiles, spray tans, the possibilities are e n d l e s s. I think to a certain extent it's a good thing. Too much is well...another story for another day!

BUT POOR GUYS, looks are completely and soley dependent on their genes. There's no Maybelline to make believe,  just two options:

THANK GOD, personalities are not available in stores.

POP! Goes my IMATS cherry!

(IMATS '11 @Pasadena Convention Center)
YES! My very first time at the IMATS & while it was a good experience, probably one I won't do again anytime soon. To me, it was a giant showcase for make up (DUH!) a.k.a. a room full of booths to buy make up from a.k.a. just like Sephora or a department store.

The difference? a $15-40 entrance fee depending on your ticket.
If you're a smart, early bird and just wanted floor tickets you probably got yours for $15 but I got mine for $25, I was not interested in taking any classes for $40. Just not my cup of tea!

OVERALL: It's definitely a great convention for PROFESSIONAL make up artists to receive discounts on items, pro items, economy sized knick knacks and train cases but since my I am the painter of only ONE palette (my face) all of that was totally unnecessary for me! BUT..I did go on a Sunday, I liked it, no line to get in, not too much of a hassle getting around but is it really THAT big of a difference going in on a Sunday rather than a Saturday? WHO KNOWS!?

Lunch prior to IMATS @ Cafe Santorini

 Risotto with Chicken Sausage
(L2R: Grilled Calamari & Chicken Kabobs)
These make me giggle :) & it was given away free by L.A. Beautiful to promote their plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, hence my silicon shots in my vid!

OH? More pics you say? TOO BAD! You have to watch the vid to see pics and footage taken at the IMATS! Whomp, whomp, whomp..I know.

"Till next time..

Never heard of them? WHAT!?
Ok maybe you have, maybe you haven't. But just in case you haven't,  Foley + Corinna is the shiz to my cheese whiz, yeah I SAID IT. They're a designing duo from New York that created an affordable (ish) line of bags and clothes. I wouldn't go as far to say AFFORDABLE but it's certainly not gonna cost you your first born child like the super high end but let's just put it this way..if coach is affordable to you, then this bag is DEFINITELY affordable.

Can I just say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag!?
I am honestly not a 2-in-1 type of girl. I like my shampoo and conditioner separate thank you very much. But this bag is GORJESS :)

 BrunetteME vs BlondeME

Can't decide if I should stay blonde or go brunette. Decisions, decisions.

'Till next time lovelies....

addicted to CRACKle: $1 NAILPOLISH

Yes, it's all true. I did not falsely lure you into reading my post, all the type is true to hype ;)

I originally had just bought the white and gun metal colors just because I wasn't trying to get TOO excited about these considering how much they were. I mean c'mon, nowadays you definitely get what you pay for or luck out. THANKFULLY, I lucked out. I found these babies at the dollar depot by my house and when I saw how well it worked...(y'know I have such high cracking standards) I had to buy more.

Now, another recent addiction of mine has been working out. I am definitely on that summer bod grind. So, I stopped by my local SPROUTS market (best market, EVER.) and picked this up. I don't know how well it works yet but I'm a simple girl. All I wanted was some whey protein powder, low in carbs with no added sugar , yummy and OH YOU CAN'T FORGET..CHEAP!!!

25% off for a grand total of $25.
meh, not bad not bad!

& intoducing the self professed best mixer bottle ever! As you can see it has a little ball whisky thing to make sure you don't have nice clumpy surprises in your throat, unless of like that.

If I'm ballsy enough I'll be posting pics of my should be warned though, blindness may occur! And I take no liability if my pictures causes trauma, nausea or light headedness !

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."
— Marilyn Monroe

Heck, if that's true I'll higher my odds and buy all the shoes I possibly can. But I'll be realistic and smart about it because realistically speaking; you can't rule the world if you're broke. Besides, if my plan to rule the world fails, atleast I'll have comfort in shoes & an obese bank account BECAUSE my shopping philosophy is frugalistic fashionism. I am religiously fashionable in the most frugal, realistic way. Don't get me wrong, I'll drop a pretty penny here and there but for the most part, I like the power to buy vs buying. The difference you ask? The difference is HAVING THE ABILITY TO BUY to me is more important. I love having options and knowing I am capable of buying what I want, as opposed to buying things and losing my power to buy. Every purchases decreases your power of purchase. It's the balance and order I live by ;D & part of living by my own personal checks & balances is by taking the time to buy what I want without having to sell my first born child ;)

@gojane for $21 over memorial day weekend using a promo code.
@shiekhshoes for $10
@journey's $20
@reflectionshoes $10
