-Of COURSE it is! I learned this trick awhile back in high school when putting your hair in a bun was the "cool" thing to do and after school I would take it down and one side of my hair would be nice but the other would be weird. And I thought about it and I realized the reason one side was messed up and the other wasnt was because it was all in the same direction because it was in ONE bun! Don't get it? AHH, you'll see! Don't get ur knickers in a knot! Anywhoo, this method I use is perfect for me because I am blonde and well, when you're blonde, HEAT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. 

Besides, it shaves off a good 15-25minutes off any "getting ready" time!

4th of July Inspired Make Up

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

there's a "happy" in there you just can't see it 'cause it's white text =P

Quite patriotic, if I do say so myself ! It's my first time going balls to the wall with make up so don't be nit picky and call me out and say it's horrible :( It's hard trying to draw a star on the side of your face! I was going cross-eyed!

What I used:

Cosmetic Grade Glitter
La Femme "Royal Blue" Pigment
MAC "Your Ladyship" Pigment
88 e/s palette for the red
& MAC Fix + Spray as a mixing medium


It's pretty much self explanatory, but for the stars I put in my big blue star, all I did was clump up some "Your Ladyship" and picked it up with a NYX white eyeliner pencil and plop the clumps onto my face. White clumps on my face...sounds......delicious..NOT!

$5 Ring Organizer!

 

 5 BUCKS for a 36 ring organizer?? Sick steal, RIGHT?

Yeah...kinda....sorta.


I ordered two of them and one came out perfectly fine & the other had a scratch. I'm not too anal about it so I'm not even gonna bother to complain, it does the job. BUT one thing that was weird to me was the plastic, clear part was DIRTY? I wiped it off with some windex so no biggie, but still..

I HATE DIRTY. Messy, on the other hand, is another story!

MEH, for $5 it does the deed so I'm not gonna complain too hard. As long as it organizes rings!

Buyincoins.com has a whole bunch of discounted make up & hair knick knacks as well as a whole bunch of random things! It's worth checking out but I will warn you, even though it's uber cheap the things I've ordered from there are NOT THE BEST OF QUALITY. Remember you get what you pay for! I do like their eyelashes though, it's extremely cheap. I believe it's a dollar for 10 pairs! So even if they're flimsy and what not, I think I can afford .10 a day for a fresh pair of eyelashes on the daily!

I, for one, am not a big fan of skeletons..they would take up space in my closet much needed for more important things, like CLOTHES!

Clothes are an investment for success, life & love. Unfortunately, one's attire conveys a social psychological message to those who see you. Creating opportunities or reinforcing negativity. You never know who you will run into or what you'll stumble across, so I'm always prepared (for the most part, ok, I'm lying but I TRY!) because the recipe to success is opportunity and preparedness.

So case closed, I'm not a sick, addicted shopaholic! I'm an investor in life, love & success :)

POP! Goes my IMATS cherry!

 

(IMATS '11 @Pasadena Convention Center)

YES! My very first time at the IMATS & while it was a good experience, probably one I won't do again anytime soon. To me, it was a giant showcase for make up (DUH!) a.k.a. a room full of booths to buy make up from a.k.a. just like Sephora or a department store. 

The difference? a $15-40 entrance fee depending on your ticket.

If you're a smart, early bird and just wanted floor tickets you probably got yours for $15 but I got mine for $25, I was not interested in taking any classes for $40. Just not my cup of tea!

OVERALL: It's definitely a great convention for PROFESSIONAL make up artists to receive discounts on items, pro items, economy sized knick knacks and train cases but since my I am the painter of only ONE palette (my face) all of that was totally unnecessary for me! BUT..I did go on a Sunday, I liked it, no line to get in, not too much of a hassle getting around but is it really THAT big of a difference going in on a Sunday rather than a Saturday? WHO KNOWS!?

Heck, if that's true I'll higher my odds and buy all the shoes I possibly can. But I'll be realistic and smart about it because realistically speaking; you can't rule the world if you're broke. Besides, if my plan to rule the world fails, atleast I'll have comfort in shoes & an obese bank account BECAUSE my shopping philosophy is frugalistic fashionism. I am religiously fashionable in the most frugal, realistic way. Don't get me wrong, I'll drop a pretty penny here and there but for the most part, I like the power to buy vs buying. The difference you ask? The difference is HAVING THE ABILITY TO BUY to me is more important. I love having options and knowing I am capable of buying what I want, as opposed to buying things and losing my power to buy. Every purchases decreases your power of purchase. It's the balance and order I live by ;D & part of living by my own personal checks & balances is by taking the time to buy what I want without having to sell my first born child ;)
