SHOE ME THE MONEY: SHOES UNDER $25

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."
— Marilyn Monroe

Heck, if that's true I'll higher my odds and buy all the shoes I possibly can. But I'll be realistic and smart about it because realistically speaking; you can't rule the world if you're broke. Besides, if my plan to rule the world fails, atleast I'll have comfort in shoes & an obese bank account BECAUSE my shopping philosophy is frugalistic fashionism. I am religiously fashionable in the most frugal, realistic way. Don't get me wrong, I'll drop a pretty penny here and there but for the most part, I like the power to buy vs buying. The difference you ask? The difference is HAVING THE ABILITY TO BUY to me is more important. I love having options and knowing I am capable of buying what I want, as opposed to buying things and losing my power to buy. Every purchases decreases your power of purchase. It's the balance and order I live by ;D & part of living by my own personal checks & balances is by taking the time to buy what I want without having to sell my first born child ;)

@gojane for $21 over memorial day weekend using a promo code.
@shiekhshoes for $10
@journey's $20
@reflectionshoes $10

Collective Haul & Video

THE MAC ATTACK!
So few items, so many dollars! I actually haven't bought from MAC in awhile. I'm not really a BRAND whore. As in, I don't commit to just one brand or have any favorite brands for that matter. I guess I have favorite brands for specific things but in all things even my wardrobe to accessories, I'm a fan of diversity. I believe each brand has it's own "thing" and there are too many wonderful "things" out there to just be married to one brand. Not knockin' on anyone who is committed to certain brands, just my philosophy ;)

Pictured above is:  Plushglass "Ample Pink" Cremesheen "Ever Hip" & Mineralize Blush "Warm Soul"

I really, really love these products or else I wouldn't have bothered buying them considering I've bought a lot of make up lately but my new all-time favorite lipstick HAS TO BE EVER HIP. It is so damn gorge, I can barely stand it ;)

Ever Hip on it's own has such a NOT-TOO-FUNKY-but-just-enough-funk kind of barbie pink color and I LA LA LA LOVE IT! Enough pop w/out all the slop! & the best part is, I can take it down a notch with a little bit of gloss. Best of both worlds? I think so. Anyways, check out what else I got by watching the video below! Enjoy!

Orogold & Shopping With Cha Cha Teaser

So this past weekend, miss cha cha & I went SHOPPING at the Santa Anita Mall (huge, confusing mall it is!)! I am going to be putting up a haul video/pics of all the junk we bought & a review/see it in action video on OROGOLD.

So what is OROGOLD? Never heard of it? Maybe you've seen their cart or store and didn't pay it any mind, only noticed it's Paris Hilton look-alike in a mascarade ball mask? In the Los Cerritos Center they have a cart but all I ever noticed was the Paris Hilton look-alike--not very appealing. For some reason, most mall carts that sell do not appeal to me, they actually turn me off because I feel like as I'm approaching the 10 ft radius of the cart. the employee targets me & has some plan of attack on how to lure me into trying their silly product or worse, a creepy guy who tries to hit on me or use compliments to lure me to his cart. Carts technically have no perimeter so it's kind of  feels like forcefully being in sale predator territory, whereas a store is something of CHOICE. You walk in there because you wanted to and most employees, not all, don't breathe down your neck.

ANYWAYS, I'm going way off topic with my cart vs store babble...

So OROGOLD is basically a company that uses gold & other metals in their products, which is skin care & cosmetics. Apparently, gold has special properties other than luster ;) But you shall have to wait to wait for the review to see...

if OROGOLD is really the goldmine of beauty & youth or just fool's gold!

 Kelly Moses - Sales Manager
Nice guy....great salesman.
Apparently, he's based out in Vegas but has come out to California to help start up a few stores that opened up in the greater los angeles area. Go visit him at Santa Anita Mall & get a free demonstration! But if that's too far for you, he'll be at the Beverly Center in just a few weeks!

Stay tuned & STAY GORJESS,

The Shoporexic's Relapse: Recession-Proof Your Closet!

Some of you may or may not know but for the past couple of weeks I've been SHOPOREXIC (depriving one's self of shopping) & have BINGE-SHOPPED as a result of this shoporexia.  2 weeks left, or maybe 1, I don't know. BUT I HAVE FAILED---utterly & completely. On a good note though, most of my purchases have been completely wallet friendly, practically a steal! I was going to just do one complete haul and put it out there but I'm going to break it down  into 4 sections: accessories. clothes, bags & make up. I KNOW, I know, a lot of shopping for something who's supposed to be shoporexic. I'M A SHOPOREXIC TURNED  SHOPAHOLIC!

The majority of all the accessories I'm about to show you are a $1!

When I first saw these, a rush of high school memories came flooding back & two things came to mind: SHARPIE EYEBROWS & BIG HOOPS EARRINGS! I'm down for the return of hoops but the sharpie will never get a come back on this face! And then it dawned on me, 3 hoops for a $1!? What! that's .33 cents an earring! Definite steal. & these weren't no flimsy aluminum feeling hoops either!

&  check out this Alexander McQueen Skull inspired ring !!!

VS

My new skull & hello kitty ring! $1

Mini TOPHAT! I saw this and fell in love! It's so friggen' ADORBS! This was a dollar as well!

 & $1 NERD glasses!
All dollar items listed were purchased at my local Dollar Depot!
This was actually a gift but isn't cute as heck!?

& check this out.....
looks like your ordinary wristley/pochette...

OH..but what is this inside?...

It's a bird? It's a plane?....

No! My sillies, it's the greatest invention ever made! Totally pwns the snuggie IMHO.
It's Dr. Scholl's For Her Fast Flats!!

Where have these things been all my life!? How many nights have I worn utterly gorgeous heels that have slaughtered my little piggies into blistery hell! I love how it's so compact and I can take it anywhere with me, ANYTIME! And the cute wristlet doesn't hurt either! I was able to snag this baby up for $5 at Walmart! I don't know how long these will be on sale for but their original price tag is $10! Still worth it to me! Go snag up a pair in the pharmacy section !

Every time there's a lack of money, it's ART that's the first to go! And by art I mean, art progams in school and art in our lives, nails, hair, clothes become the first to be CUT out of our budget! But cut no more & save galore! Stay tuned for my next post on my clothes purchase!

XOXO,

the anti-bride

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident." -- St. Augustine

When I was little, I dreamed of the quintessential fairytale wedding with my perfectly perfect prince charming. Fast forward a double decade or so and now you have the ANTI-BRIDE. I don't loathe weddings nor do I judge those who choose to have them,  I just feel for myself that I'd rather have a small, intimate simple wedding. Yes, I know, it's supposed to be one of the most memorable days of my life but so was the day I had my baby and I didn't decorate my delivery room with flowers and centerpieces or have a live quartet play as she ejected from my kuka! That moment was all about love; surrounding and celebrating life with love. And that is how I feel about my wedding. Instead of dressing in Vera, I'll dress in love. Instead of surrounding myself with flowers and centerpieces, I'll surround myself with loved ones, and instead of focusing on the BIG DAY, I'll focus on the rest of my days, my happily ever after. Because the big picture is, your wedding day is JUST A DAY but the marriage is the rest of your life. I think if more people put just as much effort into their marriage as they do their wedding day, there'd be a heck of a lot less divorces.

I'd rather try to be a perfect wife rather than the perfect bride.

Weekend Recap: Indian Food & Closet Building

So this previous weekend I tried Indian food for the first time! I was pretty skeptical about it because I was afraid that the spices might be too overwhelming or not to my liking but since Connie Cee recommended it, why not? It wasn't planned at all total happenstance because after picking up supplies for my closet, I yelped around and found a highly recommended Indian spot.

                                                            Bismillah Halal Tandoori
8901 Knott AveBuena Park, CA 90620

To the left are Veggie Samosas! Absolutely DELISH loved it! It was stuffed with potatoes and veggies, so warm and fluffy with a hint of nutmeg in the background. It was my favorite part of the meal! To the right are just random veggies and dipping sauces.
Naan w. ground beef, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and basmati rice
chicken tikka masala
tandoori chicken
Naan bread stuffed with ground beef

mango lassi, so yummy!

Overall, the spices in the food were different than anything I've ever tasted but it was good. It definitely has a distinct taste but it's something you've gotta try atleast once in your life. I wish they had an Indian bakery that I could swoop up some somosas and lassi at!

Anyways, back at home we got working square at my closet by removing the entire left side. I wanted to maximize closet size my adding another shelf/rack for clothes.

pretending I'm working damn hard!
what a mess!
dawdling while my friend does all the work LOL
good friends help friends build closets!
dawdling, again!
anybody need a new nose? I'd be glad to break you a new one!
so cute!
aww, handy manny has a helper!
dawdling!

mess, mess, mess!
R.I.P. mirror
If you've read previous posts, I've broken many, many mirrors, but this time it was not my fault. Blame the kids running around my room
one up! one to go!

Putting in work making sure the new mirror is secure, can't bear to have another one die on me!

CLOSET BEFORE

  CLOSET AFTER!

room before (panoramic app on iphone)
room after

Phew! Finally done! I'm so excited that my closet is finally coming together. I've been on the hunt for a 50pair shoe shelf/rack. The only thing that bugs me is I have my shoes all seperated, some on a rack, some on the tier, some in other places, I just wanna keep them all in one place! How do you guys organize your shoes? Any recommendations?
