POP! Goes my IMATS cherry!

(IMATS '11 @Pasadena Convention Center)
YES! My very first time at the IMATS & while it was a good experience, probably one I won't do again anytime soon. To me, it was a giant showcase for make up (DUH!) a.k.a. a room full of booths to buy make up from a.k.a. just like Sephora or a department store.

The difference? a $15-40 entrance fee depending on your ticket.
If you're a smart, early bird and just wanted floor tickets you probably got yours for $15 but I got mine for $25, I was not interested in taking any classes for $40. Just not my cup of tea!

OVERALL: It's definitely a great convention for PROFESSIONAL make up artists to receive discounts on items, pro items, economy sized knick knacks and train cases but since my I am the painter of only ONE palette (my face) all of that was totally unnecessary for me! BUT..I did go on a Sunday, I liked it, no line to get in, not too much of a hassle getting around but is it really THAT big of a difference going in on a Sunday rather than a Saturday? WHO KNOWS!?

Lunch prior to IMATS @ Cafe Santorini

STRESSBALLS! PUN INTENDED! :D
These make me giggle :) & it was given away free by L.A. Beautiful to promote their plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, hence my silicon shots in my vid!

OH? More pics you say? TOO BAD! You have to watch the vid to see pics and footage taken at the IMATS! Whomp, whomp, whomp..I know.

Less is MORE. Barely any make up with lots of make up

 Is less really more?
Is more actually..less?

When I was younger, I thought having bright, fancy stellar make up was the way to go & as I grow older, yes...OLDER, I like wearing neutrals and stay away from anything bright. Kind of reminds me of Myspace and Facebook. Back in the days it was all about bright, neon, customized myspace and now facebook. Sure it's kind of boring, it just kind of fits the mold without any customization. It's simple and has a more mature setting about it. Maybe, we're not supposed to Myspace our face and customize it, perhaps all along, you're just supposed to Facebook it. Keep it simple & user friendly.

WOW..Did I just compare faces to Myspace & Facebook?

-yeah, I think I did. Lame comparison but you get the gist of it!

I just used the most basic of make up so I'm not even gonna bother to put up what I used. I just primarily focused on everything else other than my eyes. I put on eyelashes and mascara and just a bit of eyeshadow, just enough to enhance my crease and still make it look natural. I put all of my attention to my skin and contoured it...

Just remember...ENHANÇE IT! DON'T MASK IT!
Let your make up do more for you by putting less rather than putting more make up and showing less of you.

You are not beautiful make up, you are a beautiful girl!

Collective Haul & Video

THE MAC ATTACK!
So few items, so many dollars! I actually haven't bought from MAC in awhile. I'm not really a BRAND whore. As in, I don't commit to just one brand or have any favorite brands for that matter. I guess I have favorite brands for specific things but in all things even my wardrobe to accessories, I'm a fan of diversity. I believe each brand has it's own "thing" and there are too many wonderful "things" out there to just be married to one brand. Not knockin' on anyone who is committed to certain brands, just my philosophy ;)

Pictured above is:  Plushglass "Ample Pink" Cremesheen "Ever Hip" & Mineralize Blush "Warm Soul"

I really, really love these products or else I wouldn't have bothered buying them considering I've bought a lot of make up lately but my new all-time favorite lipstick HAS TO BE EVER HIP. It is so damn gorge, I can barely stand it ;)

Ever Hip on it's own has such a NOT-TOO-FUNKY-but-just-enough-funk kind of barbie pink color and I LA LA LA LOVE IT! Enough pop w/out all the slop! & the best part is, I can take it down a notch with a little bit of gloss. Best of both worlds? I think so. Anyways, check out what else I got by watching the video below! Enjoy!

NYC Chrome Collection & STAR FOTD

After reading YUMMY411's post about these NYC chrome face glows, I checked the website and it wasn't even on there. So today after class I drove myself to a CVS to take a gander and lo and behold I FOUND IT! They were so pretty, I bought all they had out there, which was just 2 face glows and 2 e/s. I didn't see a sign that said they were BOGO free but it rang up that way, and when I used my CVS card, I guess my mom had a buttload of points 'cause I only paid 6 BONES for these babies.

Before I go on to show you my haul and swatches, MISS SERENITY STAR wanted a little FOTD of her own, so I took some pictures of her last night with some lipstick and a little eyeshadow, WHICH she picked out LOL ENJOY!

From left to right: Aquamarine(e/s), Tiger's Eye(e/s), MoonGlow(faceglow), Sunstone(faceglow)

I just swiped with a finger and no base, so they're pretty pigmented and give off a nice frosty shimmer, not glitter which I LOVE. And aren't they pretty? The faceglow's regular price are $4.99 and the eyeshadows are $3.99. Moonstone is a nice light pink and sunstone is a deep peach color! I'll be doing a look using these as well as a formal review once I really get to try them out! I hope y'all have a great weekend!

SHOP 'TILL I DROP..[PICTURE HEAVY]

OR run out of money =x same difference.

I got my $75 refund debit card from at&t from my b l a c k b e r r y. Which is wierd because my blackberry broke and they gave me $250 credit for it, so I got the i p h o n e but they still sent me my refund back. It must be l u c k haha.

So I went to Westminster Mall today, not intending to buy anything, just went to the bank and all...When I see Best Buy across the way from the bank so I f i g u r e d I'd see if they had any cases for my i p h o n e. D I S A P P O I N T E D. Too e x p e n s i v e and not even nice. I looked to the left and I see this bag and I'm like "wow that's really cute! and it's betsy johnson..wait..am I in bestbuy?" I wasn't lost, I really was in Best Buy, and low and behold designer bags by the cellphone a c c e s s o r i e s.

I took pictures for p r o o f..hehe. It's only camera phone so it aint all that or nothing.

(Best Buy is going Macy's or what?)

& since they didn't have anything and I had some time to kill with the mall right infront of me calling my name. I gave in to t e m p t a t i o n and told myself I would just "look around" I go inside and the f i r s t thing I see is "helen's beauty supply" I love checking out different beauty supply stores cause they carry some pretty cool things. Sometimes NYX lipsticks! But there was no NYX in this one. & in most of the beauty supply stores, I get d i s a p p o i n t e d cause it's more hair stuff. But this one didn't disappoint! I was so a m a z e d like a kid in the candy store. One of the first ones I noticed was "Le Femme." I've read a lot about people ordering it online. The "Le Femme" line wasn't just in one place it was kind of all over, so while i was persuing I'd be suprised to see more of it. They had everything "La Femme" but I decided to get 2 e/s in blue shades just because I really don't have much blue eyeshadow and I thought they were pretty. Also they had a massive collection of eyelashes like I've never seen before! I was in heaven! But I didn't buy any eyelashes because I have too many and how many pairs of lashes does a pair of eyes need?

La Femme everywhere!!

Eyelash HEAVEN ;]

I thought about you DONNA and our lil convo about our puffy eyes haha. (excuse my groddy lookin' nail)

I've been looking for this EVERYWHERE!

This looks..conspicuous. hmm..

The "Le Femme" e/s I bought ;]

Then I ended up passing by one of those cell phone accessories booth and made nice with the girl working there. It goes to show you that making nice goes a long way. The case was originally $12 & the screen protector $5 & even that sounds pretty decent priced to me but she gave them both to me for $10. YAY!

Doesn't it look pretty?

OK right when I thought what luck I was having today I see claires was having a sale. They had a section where if the item was originally $10 and under you could get it for a $1. A FRIGGIN $1. Suprisingly I didn't go too crazy. I got a bracelet, 2 pairs of earrings and since my friend Tina LOVES clutches, I GOT HER TWO! Good friend? sure.. Bargain hunter? HECK YA!

& when my luck couldn't get anybetter..I stumble across this store called,"CLUE." Now I've been wanting a peacoat, I have one but it's a bit long and it cost me a pretty penny ;[ The cheapest I've seen any peacoats were at F21 for $49.99 but this store had them for $15, NO LIE! I got 2! and I got a cute short sleeve sweater for $10.

I basicly used my refund card and still have money to spare! If only everyday could be like this ;]

Oh what a day, what a day ;]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

TO...christina !
LOVE YOU GIRL!

SO this is what I bought her for her 21st bday!!

She's starting out trying to do more intricate make up on herself! So I wanted to get her a pallete to work with! This was a pretty good plus, it comes with bronzer, blush, eyeshadows, eyeliner/eyecrayon! It's super pigmented & a great steal to me!

BAPTISM...
